New Features for Even More Efficient Template Creation with axesFlip
Creating templates should be as fast, precise, and flexible as possible. That’s why the latest axesFlip update adds new features to the axesFlip Designer that simplify template creation. With a new shape selection wizard and additional shape information, the update supports efficient template creation. In addition, a new command-line license activation feature simplifies the setup of axesFlip.
Choosing a shape is now even easier
Filter expressions are among the core components of many axesFlip templates. Until now, they had to be created manually. With the new Shape Selection Wizard, axesFlip now handles this step largely automatically.
Simply select the desired shapes in the document view and then launch the wizard. In a user-friendly interface, you can specify which properties of the selected shapes should be included in the filter expression. These include, for example, position, size, color, text content, and many other characteristics. The appropriate expression is generated without you having to write the syntax yourself.
For each property, you can select the desired comparison operator from a dropdown menu. For example, for font size, you can use the "Greater than" operator to find all text elements whose font size is larger than that of the selected shape.
In addition, the wizard makes it easy to define tolerances. This is particularly helpful because values in the document often contain many decimal places, are rounded in the user interface, or may vary slightly between different documents. Using tolerances makes your filters more robust and ensures reliable results even when values are similar but not exactly the same.
Based on your selection, the wizard automatically generates the appropriate filter expression. You can check it directly in the wizard and adjust it if necessary.
This saves time, reduces the risk of errors, and makes creating templates much easier

The Shape Properties pane has also been expanded. In addition to the properties already available, additional information is now displayed, including:
- Shape type: Image, Path, or Text
- Page Index
- Horizontal and vertical distances between shapes
- Rectangle coordinates for the page and document
This information helps you analyze document elements with even greater precision and create targeted filters or rules. These additional properties are particularly valuable when dealing with complex document layouts.
Simplified Licensing with System Identity
Another new feature is the ability to generate a so-called "system identity" directly via the axesFlip CLI.
This serves as the basis for licensing axesFlip's deployment options. After executing the command-line command provided by axes4, a JSON file is created and sent to axes4. You will then receive the corresponding activation token.
This makes the activation process clearly structured and easy to follow, especially in enterprise environments with custom deployment scenarios.
